About me
Hi! I'm Laura, nice to meet you!
I'm a facilitator, educator, and author specializing in group dynamics, team development, and psychological safety. I'm driven by a simple idea: people learn, grow, and perform best when they feel psychologically safe.Since 2016, I've supported thousands of educators, leaders, and teams in Finland through workshops, keynotes, and online courses. I'm now bringing this work to an international audience.
Here's how I discovered my mission.

In today's world, human connection is often overshadowed by the pressure to perform—yet it's one of the most effective ways to reach our goals. Over the years, I've seen again and again how investing in interaction and trust transforms how people learn, focus, and work together. When psychological safety is lacking, learning stalls, engagement suffers, and progress slows. But when it's nurtured, something powerful happens: well-being improves, motivation grows, collaboration deepens, and people are able to contribute fully.
My passion for group dynamics and psychological safety began when I was working as a middle school teacher while also studying performing arts and drama education. In the theatre world, teams change frequently, and trust needs to form fast. During my acting studies, I experienced how guided interaction could create a sense of safety. And the safer I felt, the more confident, creative, and capable I became. That shift didn't just help me, it transformed how we worked together as a team.
Curious about whether the same principles applied elsewhere, I brought similar practices into my health education and biology classes. Soon, I began to witness a visible shift: the classroom atmosphere became more positive, students started to open up, group work became smoother, and it was easier for everyone to concentrate on learning. Along the way, I came to understand that our psychological need to belong is universal—and that the group dynamics influencing students are just as present among adults in staff rooms and teams.
I started to deepen my expertise and expand my work, first by training other educators, and eventually by supporting professional teams and organizations. In every setting, I've seen the same truth: human connection isn't a soft extra. It's the foundation for learning, performing, and succeeding together.
I wrote the book Ryhmä toimivaksi (loosely translated as How to Build Thriving Classrooms) in 2022, because I wanted to offer teachers both the knowledge and the tools to strengthen group dynamics, psychological safety, and the sense of belonging in the classroom. It became a bestseller in Finland, and now it's being translated into English.
My theatre background gave me the courage to try, to fail, and to discover my strengths. It also led me to become a facilitator and still forms the backbone of my work today. My expertise is further supported by studies in solution-focused coaching and work and organizational psychology. These bring research-based insight into the learning experiences I offer and support my mission to make human connection central to how we teach, lead, and work together.
If you're working to build a thriving classroom, staff team, or workplace culture—I'd be happy to help.
